The Affinity Bridge (Newbury & Hobbes Investigation)
by George Mann
Comments
Newbury is an archeologist/historian who secretly works on behalf of Queen Victoria, currently alive via life support and actively ruling her kingdom, and Hobbes is his able female assistant. They are called on to investigate the crash of an airship that killed all of the people on board. The airship was piloted by an automaton that has now gone missing, and the mystery leads them back to the company that makes the automata.
This is an adult book, but would be suitable for older teen readers (no cursing, off-scene drug use [opium] some violence with zombie/revenant people- eating).

Havemercy
by Jaida Jones
Comments
adult; recommended for mature readers for language and sexuality
Comments
The works in this book are feature pieces from the University of Oxford's Museum of the History of Science and their exhibition of Steampunk art and design. The exhibition and the book features work from foremost steampunk artists, such as Amanda Scrivener and Ian Crichton, and includes a wide range of pieces from costume to sculpture. The book is like an exhibit guide, so it is an idea book--or book of marvels-- but not a maker's guide.
